DAVISON (DTV) – (4/2/2024) – The Davison Environmental Club is holding its annual Tree-Plenish event, where community members can buy tree saplings while supporting their community. The first 50 trees sold will be free and after that will be sold for $5 each sapling. The options of native tree species this year are the Colorado Spruce, Downy Serviceberry, and Eastern Redbud. The last day to order a sapling is April 4th, and saplings will be dropped off on Saturday, May 4th. To order a sapling click HERE.
DHS ESports to host upcoming tournament
DAVISON (DTV) – (1/25/2024) – Davison High School ESports will be hosting a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament on Wednesday January 31st at 4:30 p.m. It will be held in the DHS ESports lab located in the media center/library.
This tournament is only open to high school students in Genesee County. Students must have a valid school ID or be accompanied by a staff member from their school. Students under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (staff, esports coach, or guardian). All levels of experience are welcome! If you’re new to competitive Smash, this is a great way to learn the rules and check out DHS’s ESports lab.
The tournament is being run through Start.gg and you will need an account to register. Sign up early because space is limited.

DAVISON (DTV) – (1/25/2024) – The mayor of Davison, Tim Bishop saw a need for different kinds of foods in the city, so he brought his hot dogs back to Davison!

DHS snowcoming dance and spirit week
DAVISON (DTV) – (1/16/2024) – The DHS Snowcoming dance is set for February 3rd in the DHS cafeteria from 7-10 p.m. Tickets will be sold during all lunches the week of January 29th for $10 or you can purchase them at the door on the night of the dance for $15.
If you have a guest you’d like to join you at the dance that does not go to Davison High School, you must complete a guest form, They can be found in the front office and must be filled out and turned in by Friday, January 26th by noon.
The week leading up to the dance will be a spirit week!

Extreme weather may become more frequent
DAVISON (DTV) – (12/19/2023) – On July 20th, Davison and many surrounding communities experienced a hail storm that destroyed many cars, homes, and businesses, and set back the community months. Hank Graff’s Rob Zubke and Kameron Driskell spoke about their first-hand experience of the storm. As well as Ahmad Bajjey, a CBS Detroit Meteorologist gave the facts on whether we can expect more of these bigger, faster, and stronger storms.

DHS student’s art work wins “Paint a Plow” contest
DAVISON (DTV) – (12/4/2023) – At the end of August the Genesee County Road Commission (GCRC) invited students across Genesee County to create a design to paint on one of their snow plows. Community members were able to vote for their favorite designs on the GCRC Facebook page. Elementary, Middle School, and High School were all separate categories for the community to vote on. Overall, 12 different schools entered the contest with 76 different art entries in total.
The winners were Reid Elementary, Atherton Elementary, and Davison High School! Davison’s own Lucy Stevens’ design won for DHS. After the winners were announced, GCRC dropped off a plow to each school for the students to paint their designs on. When finished, the plows will be displayed outside each school’s nearest GCRC facility and used in winter maintenance operations.

Help a local family with surgery funds
DAVISON(DTV) – (11/27/23) – Matthew Lawrie, a Davison Alternative High School Alumni, found out he has a brain tumor the size of a golf ball right in the middle of his brain. The Lawrie family quickly sent Matthew into surgery. His younger sister, Sydney Lawrie, is a current Davison High School student. She has set up a go fund me page to help fund the surgery bills. At last check Matthew was sent to a rehabilitation center and is able to walk with a walker. He has gone through two surgeries and is slowly becoming more alert.
His sister Sydney said “He is my best friend and a great person and anything helps and it is greatly appreciated”. If you would like to donate you can click HERE to visit the page on the GoFundMe site. All funds will go towards the surgery bills. We are hoping for a quick and easy recovery for Matthew!
Belleville vs Southfield A&T for MHSAA State Finals
DETROIT (DTV) – (11/26/23) –The Lions stadium is full of energy as the undefeated Belleville tigers face off against the Southfield A&T warriors. You can check out the State Final Story HERE.
At 3 minutes into the game, Southfield A&T made their first touchdown of the night. The kick attempt failed, giving Southfield a starting lead of 6 points. Southfield then stuns the crowd with an extraordinary interception by DaMario Quarles who caught the ball behind his own back!
As the clock winds down for the first quarter, Belleville makes a comeback with a 16-yard touchdown. The kick attempt was good, and Belleville ended the quarter with a lead of 7-6.
The second quarter starts slow, but the Southfield warriors eventually rush 3 yards for their second touchdown of the game. They go in for a 2-point conversion after their kick attempt fails, but a flag went down and the Southfield Warriors settled for a 5-point lead.
Belleville closes the gap by 3 points as they have a successful field goal attempt. This doesn’t last, because with 13 seconds left on the clock, Southfield A&T had a stunning 13-yard pass that resulted in a touchdown. A successful 2-point attempt has them ending the quarter with a 10-point lead, 20-10!
After an entertaining halftime show, the third quarter takes a while to get rolling, with the first touchdown from Southfield at 3 minutes remaining. Their two-point attempt was successful. Belleville scored a touchdown at 1 minute remaining, and with a successful two-point attempt, both teams scored 8 points.
Excitement was in the air as the fourth quarter began. With a game so close, the lead could fall into either team’s hands with the right play. Belleville inches closer to Southfield’s lead after another touchdown.
A shocking comeback as the team climbed their way to the top with two touchdowns. Their lead doesn’t last, as Southfield takes the lead with 47 seconds left in the game! The night ends off with a magnificent last-minute victory from Southfield! The game was a nail-biter, with a close score of 34-32. Congratulations to Southfield A&T for their astonishing victory, and for putting an end to Belleville’s win streak that’s been ongoing since September 2021!
