DAVISON (DTV) – (6/3/2024) – The Environmental Club here at DHS is taking strides to maintain its green school status. One of these steps was the introduction of compost bins to the cafeteria. These compost bins will reduce methane gas production from food decomposing in landfills and provide a cheap fertilizer alternative for the DHS gardens. Over the past 3 years, the environmental club has improved the school with multiple projects. These projects include, but are not limited to; a wildflower garden, an outdoor learning area, a vegetable garden, recycling bins, raising and releasing chinook salmon, compost bins, and planting tree saplings.
If you’re interested in joining the Environmental Club you can see Ms. Ruggiero in room 344 or Mr. Kelsey in room 240 for information on how to get involved.
