Davison High School Prom 2026: What you need to know

DAVISON (DTV) – (03/04/2026) – Davison High School’s prom will be held on Saturday April 25th at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac.

This year there are a few changes to purchasing tickets.  Seniors will be allowed to purchase first starting on March 16th through March 18th. On March 19th juniors will be allowed to buy their tickets. Seniors can still purchase their tickets during this time as well.

Tickets are $90 a piece if you use cash or check to buy them.  New this year is the ability to purchase tickets with a card. There is a processing fee for those paying buy card, so the total cost will be $93.

If you are buying a ticket for an outside guest, your guest MUST BE APPROVED before you buy their ticket.  You can purchase YOUR ticket, but no guest tickets will be sold until your guest is approved. 

Students will be bussed from Davison High School to the Lafayette Grande on the day of prom. Busses will be lined up on the east side of DHS. Students need to arrive no later than 4:45 p.m. You can park on the far east side of the high school or in the student parking lot. All students need to have their ID with them to check in. Busses will leave promptly at 5 p.m.

Students will NOT be allowed to drive themselves. They MUST ride the bus to and from prom. No exceptions.

  • You are NOT allowed to bring food on the buses
  • NO bags are allowed that are any bigger than a clutch purse
  • Drinks are allowed, as long as they are sealed and the chaperone can open it and break the seal.  
  • There are NO assigned seats on the buses
  • Students will be subject to search upon entering bus. 

Coming home:

  • Buses will be available to board for the ride home at 9:45, do not leave the venue before that. 
  • You are to check in again with your chaperone as you board the buses to head back to DHS.
  • You MUST ride the same bus home that you rode on the way there!
  • Snacks and water will be available on the ride home.

Spreading Kindness and Smiles at DMS with the Sunshine Project

DAVISON (DTV) – (11/18/2025) – Some days kindness can be hard to come by, making middle school challenging for many students.

“Middle school isn’t always easy. I mean, there’s always struggles in middle school and there’s always things going on.” Says Rylee Ferguson, a middle school student and girl scout.

Girl scouts from DMS decided to come together to create the sunshine closet to make sure that the kindness students show to others is recognized.
By offering prizes and acknowledgements, they hope to encourage everyone to spread light around the school.

Racers at Heart: The Lois Craig Invitational

FLINT, MI (DTV) – Lois Craig Invitational is more than just a race — it’s a celebration of joy, unity, and inclusion. Held during the Crim Festival of Races in Flint, it shines a well-deserved spotlight on Special Olympics athletes, giving them a moment to be seen, cheered for, and celebrated by the entire community. The energy is electric — smiles stretch wide, cheers echo down Saginaw Street, and hearts fill with pride as runners cross the finish line. For many, it’s not about winning, but about the happiness that comes from running together and being part of something bigger. The Lois Craig Invitational reminds everyone that every stride, no matter the pace, deserves applause and that true victory lies in the shared spirit of support and love.

 

Jaxson Dosh’s Quarterback Dream

DAVISON (DTV) – (10/3/2025) – The opportunity to play Davison football means more to senior Jaxson Dosh than you may think. Being the quarterback is not just a passion of his, but a life long dream he has had since he was a kid. And now that he has this position, it’s not about personal glory. He has his eyes set on something bigger!

2025 DHS Graduation Ceremony

DAVISON (DTV) – (6/9/24) – The Davison High School graduation ceremony is tonight, Monday June 9th at the Dort Financial Center. It will start at 7 p.m. No tickets are needed and there is no set number of guests allowed per graduate. Doors to the arena will open at 5:30 p.m.

The Dort Financial Center charges $10 for parking and only cash will be accepted. The Dort Financial Center does have a bag policy. It is strongly recommended by the event center to avoid bringing bags to events. However, if necessary, visitors may bring:

Small non-clear bags not larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″ x 1.5″ in dimensions
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (e.g., Ziplock bags)
Medical or diaper bags must measure smaller than 14” x 14″ x 6″ and are required to pass through security inspection.
All visitors will be required to pass through a metal detector so it is encouraged that students and their families arrive early in order to ensure they have enough time to enter and find their seats.

DHS ESports team celebrates nationals/hosts upcoming tournament

DAVISON (DTV) – (06/05/25) -DHS ESports Varsity Smash Bros. Crew Battle team, Davison Jab-Lock, earned the chance to compete at the national level after placing at the MiHSEF state finals.  During the weekend of May 30th, they traveled to Beloit, Wisconsin for the Eclipse Scholastic E sports Showcase National Competition. Several colleges were there to scout prospects, including Illinois Tech, UW-River Falls, and Lakeland University to name a few.

The first rounds of play were broken up into round robin pools consisting of 8 players each. Each pool had top players from different states. All players in every pool would have to play each other and only the top 2 players from each pool would go on to compete in the finals bracket.

Junior Sam Laatz placed 20th overall, finishing his pool with a 3 wins and 4 loss record. Junior Graham Williams finished his pool with a record of 4 to 3, placing 15th overall. And the team’s highest placement was Junior Aidyn Harrison in 13th with a 4-3 record.

During their trip they were able to do some sightseeing in Chicago.

On the way back home to Davison, they made a final stop to a DTV favorite, the last Hot n Now, which is in Sturgis Michigan.

On Saturday June 7th, the ESports team will be celebrating their return home from nationals by hosting an all-ages Super Smash Bros. tournament. They’re calling it “The Bird House 2” and it will held in the media center at Davison High School.

There will also be featured side events of Smash 64 on original hardware, Bopl Battle, and more!
This event is being run through Start.gg. Entrants will need a Start.gg account register.
Cost: Entry is $10 per entrant.  Entry includes Main Bracket and AMs. Additional Brackets are $5 per entrant each. Cash ONLY. Pay at entry.
Time: Check-in starts and doors open at 1pm, Doubles Starts at 2pm, Main bracket starts at 3pm. The Event and all brackets should conclude by 8pm.
Bracket Size: Due to venue limitations, the main bracket size is limited to 64 entrants.
Setups: BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLERS! Extra Switch Consoles with the game plus DLC and GC adapters will be needed and are greatly appreciated. The Davison ESports Club will be providing 10 stations with Monitors, Docks, and Speakers.

Keeping your pets safe in the winter

DAVISON (DTV) – (3/6/25) – After a little preview of spring, many of us in Mid-Michigan woke up to winter once again. Living in Michigan, we all know just how cold it can get in the winter. And while we can bundle up to stay warm, our pets rely on us for protection. Many of us have pets that we consider family members, and it’s our responsibility to make sure they stay safe and healthy when temperatures drop. From keeping them warm to protecting their paws, there are a few simple steps you can take during the cold winter months.

DAVISON (DTV) – (11/06/2024) With Fall Sports coming to a close, winter sports tryouts are on their jolly way! Here’s the list.

 

Boys 9th grade/JV Basketball – November 11th from 3-4:30:pm @ DHS Gymnasium

Wrestling – November 11th from 3-5:00 @ DHS Wrestling Room

Boys Varsity Basketball – November 11th from 6-8:pm @ DHS Gymnasium

Competetive Cheer – November 11th from 6:30-8 pm @ Central Gymnasium

Boys Bowling – November 13th from 2:45-5pm @ Rollaway Lanes ($5 fee required)

Before any student can tryout for a winter sport, they will have to turn in a valid sports physical to the Athletic Office and pick up an all clear card.

Mr. Beamer and the “Real Men Wear Pink” Campaign

DAVISON (DTV) – (10/02/2024) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Davison’s own Mr. Beamer is supporting the fight against breast cancer by competing in the “Real Men Wear Pink” Campaign.

His goal for this year is to raise $2,500 for the American Cancer Society. To support Mr. Beamer you can go to the “Real Men Wear Pink” website HERE.

Another way to support him is by going to Hilton Screeners and buying one of his “You don’t have to be this cool to wear pink” t-shirts for $10. A portion of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Be sure to wear these shirts to the Pink Out Game against Grand Blanc on October 18th.

Beamer says his reason for supporting the cause and wearing pink is, “Breast cancer affects everyone – it doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman. That’s why I’m stepping up to fight breast cancer with all I have. Since I’m in a position to make a difference within my community, I believe I have an obligation to do so. By raising money and awareness through Real Men Wear Pink, I’m helping to save more lives from breast cancer.”
