DAVISON (DTV) – (9/30/2020) – Davison’s 2020 Homecoming week is here! Here is what you need to know for the week ahead.
This year’s Homecoming will be much different than in year’s past, but we want to celebrate this year the best we can in our new normal. Unfortunately, there will be NO homecoming pep rally assembly, powderpuff game, community tailgate, or dance. Due to the relaxing of restrictions, there will be a small homecoming parade and limited seating at the homecoming game on Friday. We will be having a spirit week, elect a homecoming court with the king and queen being crowned at the homecoming game, watch a video of our kick-off assembly in team time and hold a classroom door decoration contest.
Homecoming Week starts Monday, October 5th, and runs until October 9th.
This year’s theme will be…
Superhero!
The Homecoming parade will be on the last day of Homecoming week, Friday, October 9th. It will start at 5 pm. Because of the size of the parade, participants are limited to those strictly involved with the night’s activities. This will include our senior homecoming court, underclassmen princes and princesses, marching band, cheerleaders, pompon, and dance teams. The parade will follow its normal course beginning at the high school, traveling west on Clark Street and then north on Main Street.

DAVISON (DTV) – (8/20/2020) – MHSAA just released earlier today via twitter that fall sports such as soccer, volleyball, swimming & diving will continue as scheduled, although, only in certain locations.
🚨BREAKING: MHSAA Council Authorizes Competition in Volleyball, Soccer, Swimming & Diving Where Allowed; Also Adds Off-season Contact Days for Football and all Spring Sports
▪️ PRESS RELEASE > https://t.co/ewlvsx7HHn
▪️ LETTER TO SCHOOLS > https://t.co/mSqqVkpdUN— MHSAA (@MHSAA) August 20, 2020
For example, the amount of people at a match is limited. MHSAA says, “For attendance purposes, schools in Regions 6 and 8 may have for indoor volleyball a total of 250 people or 25 percent of a facility’s capacity, whichever is smallest. Indoor pools in Regions 6 and 8 are limited to 25 percent of established bather capacity for that pool. Outdoor competition in Regions 6 and 8 may have 500 people or 25 percent of capacity, whichever is smallest. For all three sports, the total numbers of people allowed to be present include all participants, officials and school and game personnel, media and fans.”
There are also different zones in Michigan to where certain sports are allowed. For right now, people in zones 6 and 8 are allowed to continue sports as normal, but all the others are on hold.
To find more information about MHSAA’s final decision, check out their in-depth website article.
