DHS Key Club to hold donation drive for Genesee County Humane Society

DAVISON (DTV) – (11/29/21) – Starting today until Wednesday, December 10th the Key Club at Davison High School will be accepting donations for the Genesee County Humane Society. There will be a table set up by the welcome center before school each day.

Below is a list of items to donate:

Nyla Bones

Kongs

Canned dog and cat food

Dry food for puppies and kittens

Blankets (gently used)

KIRANDA pet beds

Non-clumping clay cat litter

Cleaning supplies (dryer sheets, bleach, laundry soap, lysol, multi surface cleaners, Clorox wipes, paper towels, and garbage bags)

Money donations will also be accepted.

Jostens information for caps and gowns and Black Friday sales

DAVISON (DTV) – (11/23/21) – Due to shipping delays and decreased availability, the deadline for cap and gown orders is now December 31st. Beginning January 1st the prices for caps and gowns will go up. If you cannot afford the entire payment at once, a payment plan can be set up with Jostens.

Order packets may be picked up in the front office. Orders should be placed online at Jostens.com. Click HERE for the link to order for our school.

DHS to hold clothing drive to benefit students

DAVISON (DTV) – (11/22/21) – Davison High School is holding a clothing drive from Wednesday, December 1st through Friday, December 3rd

They are asking for new or gently used items appropriate for high school aged students. Things like jeans, hoodies, socks, coats, and t shirts. They are also looking for shoes, snow boots, umbrellas, and even deodorant.

Donations may be dropped off at the welcome desk near the main entrance. Cash donations will also be accepted.

Students K-12 and Staff will no longer have to wear masks in school after Christmas Break in Genesee County

GENESEE COUNTY (DTV) – (11/19/2022) – The Genesee County Health Department has announced that students within the county will not be required to wear masks while attending school.

Following December 22nd, this will be applied to students ages 5 and older. Students who attend school can still wear a mask if they want to. This also is applicable to teachers, faculty, and other staff members.

One of the primary reasons for this decision is the authorization of the Pfizer Vaccine to everyone ages 5 and up back on November 2nd. The CDC approving this allows many more people to receive the vaccination.

Davison Volleyball sweeps Traverse City West to become regional champs

MT. PLEASANT (DTV) – (11/11/21) – The Davison Cards volleyball team traveled an hour and a half to Mt. Pleasant to take on the Traverse City West Titans in the MHSAA volleyball regional finals, on November 11th. Davison would defeat Traverse City West in all three sets. Winning the first set 26-24. The second set 25-17. And the third and final set 28-26.

The Davison volleyball team is MHSAA division 1 regional champion for the first in 26 years. They head to the MHSAA quarter-finals next. They will face the Bloomfield Hills Marian Mustangs at Royal Oak High School, Tuesday, November 16th, at 7 pm.

Davison Volleyball takes down Flushing at regional semi-finals

FENTON (DTV) – (11/9/21) – The Lady Cards Volleyball team took on the Flushing Raiders Tuesday, November 9th, at Fenton High School, in the MHSAA volleyball regional semi-finals. Davison defeated Flushing three sets to one. Winning the first set with a score of 25-21. Davison would also win the second set of the night with a final score of 25-17. But in the third set of the evening, Flushing was able to hold off Davison from a win, taking the set 25-20. Then, in the next set, Davison was up 2-1, both teams scored back and forth, but in the end, Davison would win the fourth and final set of the match 25 to 20.

The Davison Cardinals volleyball team will move on to the regional finals on Thursday, November 11th. They will play against the Traverse City West Titans at 6:30 pm at Mt. Pleasant High School.

FENTON (DTV) – (11/9/21) – The Davison Cards Volleyball team is taking on the Flushing Raiders at Fenton High School Tuesday night November 9th, at 6 pm for the MHSAA volleyball regional semi-finals. DHS Varsity Choir to perform John Rutter’s Requiem

DAVISON (DTV) – (11/08/21) – The Davison High School Varsity Choir will be performing with Mount Morris, Flushing, Swartz Creek and Grand Blanc select ensembles to perform John Rutter’s Requiem.

The special performance will be on Tuesday, November 16th at 7 PM. It’s a collaboration of the area’s top ensembles and is sure to be a great performance of the large choral work with an orchestra. There will be an admission at the door at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene.

DTV will not be able to stream this concert so be sure to head out and support our phenomenal choir!

Kids ages 5-11 can now get the Covid-19 vaccine in Michigan

DAVISON (DTV) – (11/03/2021) – It was announced on Tuesday night from the CDC that kids from the age ranges of 5 and 11 can receive the Covid-19 vaccine. It has been officiated and Michigan doctors were given the green light to distribute the vaccine to kids in the age group.

Vaccinating the children will reduce the spread of Covid-19 greatly You can get this at any vaccine holder near you. To find a holder, just search “vaccination spots near me” and several different locations will pop up.

There are about 329.5 million people in America, and 28 million of those are children ages 5-11. This means that there is a lot less chance of Covid-19 spreading from one to another.
