After a long season of wins and losses 6 Davison Made winter sports teams pushed themselves to their limits qualifying for some major titles.
The Boys and Girls Basketball teams both got to Regional’s after intense victories in Districts. The Girl’s won 52-37 against Lapeer in the first round, 71-49 to Saginaw High in the second, and finally 50-49 to Kearsley in the final round. They were unfortunately knocked out by Carman Ainsworth in Regional’s 63-44. In the first round of Districts the Boys took down Saginaw 77-58, Clio 83-42 in the second round and finally Saginaw Arthur Hill by one point 48-47 in the final round. Unfortunately they also lost to Carman Ainsworth in Regionals 72-48.
The Hockey team won 7-2 against Romeo in the Pre-Regional Finals, and Port Huron Northern 4-1 in the Regional Finals. This was not the end for the Hockey team though, they made it all the way to the Quarter Finals in Regional’s getting taken out by Birmingham Brother Rice by 1 point in overtime.
8 Wrestlers qualified for State Titles, more specifically Andrew Chambal and Alex Facundo placed as All State Champions in their Weight Class.
In Bowling, Bailey Gipson made it all the way to the Elite Eight for the Girl’s Team in the State, and the Boys won second place in State Finals accumulating 3,586 points. Brandon Kreiner placed 18th in the state, Bailey Gipson placed 15th and Callie Richardson-Fuller placed 19th.
Great job to all of our winter athletes for representing the Davison Cardinals! The spring season is just around the corner, and hopefully they can bring home some more wins for the Cards!
