DAVISON – (DTV) – (11/13/2023) – The Davison football team is officially 2023 regional champions and is looking to make it to Ford Field. The Cards will be heading down to Novi High School to face off back-to-back D1 state champs, the Belleville Tigers in what is being called a top 10 game in the nation. This is the first time these teams will meet. Kickoff will be at 1 pm on Saturday, November 18th. This game will determine who goes to Ford Field and the Cards are not looking to let up.
DTV will be broadcasting the game live on the NFHS network because MHSAA owns the right to playoff games. You can only watch if you have a subscription. If you are looking to buy a ticket just head to the go fan website and look up Davison. Tickets are ten dollars.
Here is a look back at the past 3 years of both Belleville’s and Davison’s seasons:
Davison:
2022:
- Finished with a 9-2 record overall and 4-0 in the League, finishing 1st in the League
- Lost against Catholic Central 44-34 in the second game of the season, and Clarkston in a rematch later in the season 49-40
- 470 points total in the season
2021:
- Finished with a 5-4 record overall and 3-2 in the League, finishing 3rd in the League
- Started the season with two rough losses against Clarkston (29-26), and Catholic Central (35-14), as well as a loss against Grand Blanc (43-7) and Lapeer (38-35)
- 303 points total in the season
2020:
- Finished with an 11-1 record overall and 4-0 in the League, finishing 1st in the League
- Started the season late due to the COVID-19 outbreak but was still strong coming off the 2019 State Champs win. They won every game in the season until the State Finals where the Cards lost against West Bloomfield (41-0)
- 373 points total in the season
Belleville:
2022:
- Finished with a 14-0 record overall and 7-0 in the League, finishing 1st in the League
- Undefeated the entire season Belleville played strong winning almost every game with a comfortable point gap of at least 20 points except for their games against Saline (62-44), Cass Tech (29-28, resulting in overtime), and the State Finals game against Caledonia (35-17)
- 672 points total in the season
2021:
- Finished with a 13-1 record overall and 6-1 in the League, finishing 1st in the League
- Started the season strong with 2 big wins against Plymouth (62-7) and Dearborn (49-0) but their win streak took a short stop with their loss against Churchill (28-21) but followed that with winning all the games for the rest of the season
- 592 points total in the season
2020:
- Finished with a 9-3 record overall and 5-1 in the League, finishing 2nd in the League
- Started the season with a loss against Stevenson (40-36), but bounced back winning the next 4 games till their next loss against Cass Tech (49-45) but continued their season with win after win until West Bloomfield knocked them out of States in their States Semi-finals by one point (35-34)
- 640 points total in the season
