DAVISON (DTV)-(03/07/19) On Wednesday March 6th, DTV made its way to Lansing for the Michigan Association of Broadcasting conference. We attended some sessions about writing, careers, and learned some great tips on how to be better journalists. After a session of impactful learning, we sat in on the keynote speech from former CBS correspondent and 60 minutes reporter Lara Logan. We learned what it meant to her to be a journalist and some key things to remember and stick with us for life.
That day we were able to interview her about an upcoming story story we are working on. Logan is not only a courageous, truth bringing journalist, but a kind and caring woman who gave us a lot of time.
While at the MAB conference, our very own DTV senior Abigail Fulcher received an award for first place best news feature story.
Following the conference we made our way over to the Boji Tower to visit the Public relations firm Truscott Rossman. The presentation was set up by DTV alum and former Executive Producer Lindsay Gerber. We learned about the PR side of media, and talked about how communications influence the way we work as journalists.
