DAVISON (DTV) – (5/31/2023) – This school year DTV has collaborated with PBS’s Nova Science Studio to create student-made videos teaching about environmental-oriented topics! DTV was one of the three chosen schools in Michigan and one of the six throughout the country! Both WHRO in Norfolk, Virginia, and WKAR in East Lansing, Michigan.
The schools the stations partnered with are listed below:
WKAR- Davison High School, Ovid-Elsie High School, and J.W. Sexton High School
WHRO- An Achievable Dream Middle and High School, Granby High School, and the Governor’s School for the Arts
DTV produced six science stories in total with topics including:
- Can the Great Lakes be a potential solution to the drought out west?
- The Asian Carp in the great lakes, and how similar invasive species are harmful.
- Packaging Waste and its Effect on our Environment.
- Food Waste and how local institutions are fighting against it.
- Climate Changes Effect on Michigan’s huge cherry industry.
- Paper Waste at Davison High School and How the School is Attempting to lower that waste.
