An important change in US history was made and Michigan played a huge part in it. The election came very close with Donald Trump winning the electoral votes, but Hillary Clinton won the overall popular vote. The votes came down to three states: Michigan with 16 electoral votes, Wisconsin with 10 electoral votes, and Pennsylvania with 20 electoral votes. Donald Trump leading in all three states.
This has only happened four times before the 2016 election. The last time being in the year 2000 between Al Gore and George W. Bush, and the only times before that date back to the 1800’s.
Michigan, known to be democratic through the last 6 elections was counted as an undecided state this year, and the votes were close.
