DAVISON (DTV)-(2/28/19) The Davison Hockey team took their skills to Division 2 Regionals after a long year of big wins and a few tough losses.
The boys stand at 21 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie to finish out their season, with heartbreaking losses to Saginaw Heritage, Cadillac and Marquette; which prove to be some of the toughest hockey programs in the state.
This team’s immense amount of skill and their tight bond, both on and off the ice; give light to why this team is as successful as it is. Doug Towler, the varsity head coach, agrees that this team can be one of the best teams in the region when they work together.
On February 26th, they won the first round of Regionals 9 to 4 against the Fenton Linden Griffins at the Dort Federal Credit Union (DFCU) Event Center. On February 28th, they squared off against the Lapeer Lightning in the Regional Semi-Finals also at the DFCU Event Center, and won 9-0. On Saturday, March 2nd, they headed to Regional Finals against Hartland High School, and lost to the Eagles 8-0.
