DAVISON (DTV) – (11/29/22) – This holiday season Davison is showing its cool to care through different donation programs to give back to the community. Davison Community Schools is holding its decades-old tradition known to the community as cool-to-care. But that’s not the only donation program this holiday season. Dougie’s coffee shop in downtown Davison is holding a toy drive organized by Enchanted Stories and Events. And let’s not forget about our furry friends! They will be getting some love with Davison High School Key Club’s “Here Comes Santa Paws” program! Below is information for each event:
Cool-To-Care:
- November 29th-December 9th
- Only accepting money donations
- Students can donate in their 1st hours at DHS
- All donations go directly toward Outreach East
- The 3 first hours with the most donations get their choice between bagels, donuts, and muffins
- DHS aims to reach $1,000 worth of donations
Christmas on Main Charity Christmas Tree Auction:
- December 2nd, 4-7 p.m. Academy de la Danse on 324 N. Main St.
- Over 25 decorated trees to bid on
- Pictures with Princess Belle and Elsa Courtesy of Enchanted Stories and Events
- Hot chocolate bar
- Proceeds benefit Ireland’s Dream
- “Ireland’s Dream is a non-profit for children with cerebral palsy. Our mission is to provide many different innovative and state of the art medical therapies for children with CP. All therapies will be available to all children regardless of their ability to pay. We want our children to be able to have the therapy that they need to be the best that they can be!”
Once Upon a Toy Drive:
- December 4th, 4-6 p.m.
- At Dougie’s Coffee shop located in Downtown Davison
- Please come with one new and unwrapped toy
- Donations go directly to Outreach East
- This event is organized by Enchanted Stories and Events
- Santa and several Disney princesses will be present
Here Comes Santa Paws:
- Runs from December 5th-16th
- Key Club members will be accepting donations at the table near the Welcome Center at DHS before school
- Donations go towards Genesee County Humane Society
- Items to donate inlcude:
- Nyla Bones
- Kongs
- Canned dog & cat food
- Dry food for puppies & kittens
- Blankets (gently used)
- KURANDA pet beds
- Non-clulmpng clay cat litter
- Cleaning supplies (dryer sheets, bleach, laundry soap, lysol, multi-surface cleaner, clorox wipes, paper towel, and garbage bags)
- Money donations will also be accepted
