DAVISON(DTV) – (1/13/2020) – After the girl’s tough loss to Saginaw Heritage last week, and the boy’s triumphant win against Notre Dame Prep before the weekend, they both have a big week ahead of them. It’ll all lead up to a doubleheader this Friday against the undefeated Grand Blanc Bobcats
The boys have shown some improvement from last years 9-13 record starting off 5-2, and are hoping to ride their 4-game win streak out this week. They’ll be taking on a winless Midland on Tuesday before Friday’s doubleheader, with some strong performances last week from Brendan Sullivan and Jaylin Jenkins in their Notre Dame Prep win.
Losing 6 seniors this year has been a big change for the girls, as they’ve started the first 8 games with 2 less wins than last year. With that 3-5 record and a tough loss to Saginaw Heritage last week, they’ll take on a 3-3 Saginaw Arthur Hill, which is coming off a 16-point blowout win against Central.
Friday’s first game should be a show, with the similarly performing Grand Blanc girls taking on our lady cardinals here at home. The boys are in for a tough match with the Grand Blanc boys, who have yet to lose a game. Ranked 5th in the state by MLive, they’re led by sophomore Ty Rodgers and junior RJ Taylor, who are a dynamic duo threat on the court. Neither the girls nor the boys were able to secure a win against the Bobcats last season.
DTV will not be airing the boys match-up on Tuesday, but highlights will be up of the game that night. We will, however, be airing the girls’ game on Wednesday and the doubleheader on Friday. The game on Wednesday will tip off at 7, and on Friday the action will begin with the girls at 5:30, followed by the boys at 7. You can catch the action live, as well as highlights after, all at our YouTube channel DTV News, as well as live updates on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
