DAVISON (DTV) (3/8/2019) On Friday March 8th the ABC12 Spirit Cup came to Davison High School. When students walked through the gymnasium they were given a ticket for a chance to win a few minutes in the Cash Drop machine which was a new addition this year. Students were also given an additional ticket for every five cans they brought to donate.
The spirit continued throughout the morning with the doughnut eating contest, won by DTV’s own Bailey Kinnamon, “Suck it up” which required participants to suck M&M’s through a straw to transfer into another cup, and even a bubble relay. Special performances were given by Davison’s dance team and marching band. There was even a send off for the DHS robotics team, TEAM 3534 House of Cards, as they headed out for their big competition at Kettering University. Good luck team!
The ABC12 Spirit Cup is sponsored by ELGA Credit Union. Schools throughout Mid-Michigan compete by bringing cans, money, or boxed food to donate to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan here in Genesee County. Every year ELGA gives a student the chance to spin the “Wheel of Fortune”. The number a student lands on is matched and given to the food bank. Evan Sorenson spun for Davison this year and landed on $75.00.
Thank you to everyone who got up early to show some school spirit for a good cause!
